Singapore-United States Third Country Training Programme (TCTP): Energy Efficient Buildings Workshop
The Singapore-United States Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) is a partnership between the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S.
Department of State to jointly extend technical assistance to Southeast Asian countries. The TCTP supports ASEAN community-building efforts by enhancing connectivity, promoting sustainable development, and strengthening regional resilience. Together with programme partners BCA Centre for Sustainable Buildings, a Centre Collaborating with UNEP and the Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources, under the auspices of the U.S.-Asia Pacific Comprehensive Energy Partnership (USACEP) and the Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI), the TCTP conducted a 3-day “Energy Efficient Buildings Workshop” from 2 to 4 September 2014 at Marina Bay Sands Resort, Singapore.
The workshop provided participants from ASEAN countries, particularly those in the Lower Mekong, a better understanding of the overall framework for energy efficient buildings applicable to the ASEAN region. It shared the experience and best practices in the U.S. and Singapore in policy development and implementation, research, technology, and financing for energy efficient buildings.
